So Nissan has decided to retest the minivan water, and rather than just stick a toe in, they’ve decided a cannonball would be more appropriate, so this is the Forum Concept. Nissan’s Forum is what carmakers call an exploratory concept, meaning that there are several features here that are wishful thinking.

Is a car company trying too hard to attract younger buyers when it names its new compact crossover after an X-Men character? Well yes it would be, but that’s not the case with the 2008 Nissan Rogue, which makes its debut at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show. According to Nissan, the name Rogue was chosen to reflect “its independence-oriented positioning.” Not sure what that means, but at least they didn’t call it the Wolverine.

El nuevo 370Z Coupé 2009 (el cual estará a la venta a partir de marzo del 2009) representa el primer cambio en profundidad desde la reintroducción de la saga Z en 2003. Ahora su distancia entre ejes es más corta, usa materiales más ligeros, equipa un nuevo motor más potente y una nueva transmisión automática de 7 velocidades con palanca de cambios tipo levas. Además, por primera vez en al historia de la automoción, un coche equipa un sistema sincronizado de control de revoluciones con efecto doble embrague acoplado a una transmisión manual.
La potencia corra cargo de un nuevo motor 3.7 litros VQ37VHR con VVEL (Sistema Variable de Apertura y Elevación de Válvulas) que genera 336 Hp, mientras que su par es de 366 Nm.Además de su mayor cilindrada, el nuevo motor proporciona una mejor entrega de potencia desde la zona baja hasta la zona roja de 7.000 rpm a la vez que mejora el par en la banda alta de revoluciones. Las transmisiones pueden ser una automática de siete velocidades con levas en el volante, o una manual de seis con un sistema opcional (y desconectable) que sincroniza la velocidad del motor con la marcha que piensas engranar, aumentando el confort de marcha.

This is yet another one of Audi’s attempts to make an off-road vehicle out of something that would look more at home in a shopping mall parking lot. The first time around, it was the Allroad station wagon; now Audi is trying the idea again with the Cross Cabriolet Concept.

The anual Aberdeen mini Owners Club Summer Show.

Held at the grampian Transport Museum where Mini owners can pay a very reasonable price to have a shot at being the fastest round the figure of eight track.

It is well attended for the area and is well worth going to.

There’s plenty to see at 2008 New York Auto Show this year. From flashy concepts to numerous production debuts, the last major auto show of the season has plenty to talk about.

Pontiac has a big presence this year with three major debuts. The 2010 G8 Sport Truck, the 2009 G8 GXP and the 2009 Solstice coupe are all on display. Then there are the 2009 Nissan Maxima and the 2009 Acura TSX, two fully redesigned sport sedans from Japan. The Germans are a little quiet at New York this year, but the Mercedes-Benz Bluetec diesels are here along with the BMW M3 convertible.

On the concept side, there’s the Scion Hako concept vehicle and the Suzuki Kizashi 3. One is a pure concept, the other is an early look at an upcoming production model.

Part SUV, part sports coupe
Designed to slot into the growing premium compact SUV segment alongside vehicles like the Acura RDX, BMW X3 and Land Rover LR2, the XC60 concept is part SUV and part sports coupe according to Volvo’s designers. Below the beltline, its high ground clearance and 20-inch wheels were designed to mimic the more SUV-like traits of Volvo’s larger XC90 sport-ute, while the sharply raked roof line was inspired by the new C30 sport coupe.
